Ostara/Equinox drawings

I have made 2 ostara/spring equinox drawings, one of them a frame for maybe a Book Of Shadows and one of a sun gazing hare.

As the hare is more of lunar symbol, I have not seen any drawings of sun gazing hares before, but plenty of moon gazing ones.
Not that it was something I was thinking about when I made the drawing, it just ended up that way, as the sun is more symbolic of spring in my mind.

But this is how they ended up, hope you enjoy :)

My new Book Of Shadows

So my dear husband gave me a new Book Of Shadows for yule, it's a real beauty.

I have made my very first entry in it, it was really hard to start. I did not want to ruin anything, but it turned out okay.
I'm not totally satisfied with it, but it looks okay.

It is a sabbat wheel, with an Ouroboros snake symbol.
It is hand drawn with pen and watercolours.

My first set of runes

So I have made my first set of runes, and they actually turned out well.

I made them out of white clay, I pressed the rune symbol into the clay and glazed the symbol itself with a light green paint-on glaze.
The rest of the clay is without glaze and has a nice rough feel to it.

I plan on making more sets, I have already started another set of white clay ones, these will have another colour of glaze, but I have not decided what colour yet. Maybe blue, maybe red.
There is a set in red clay on the drawing board, with black or brown glazing.

For this set there is only one thing left to do, make a nice bag.
I have already gotten the fabric for it, a nice dark green wool, that will be lined with a soft white linen.
Maybe I will do some embroidery on the bag, but I have not figured out what motif yet.

Samhain Kitty

Wow it's a long time since I have updated my blog, sorry about that!

This must be the drawing that never gets done, I have been working on it for years now.
It's not because I am missing that much n the drawing, I just prefer to work on it around Samhain :)

This is how it looks now.

Hopefully it will be done next year ;)

Beltane ornament

Beltane is closing in fast and a lot of my crafting at the moment is circling around the spring theme.

This evening I just finished a Beltane fairy ornament, as a part of a swap on swapbot, I think she is really cute and I might make a couple for myself, to hang around my pagan dedicated area, in honour of the sabbat.

Goddess Belt Purse

A couple of weeks ago I received a pretty green goddess doll in a swap and because of her cute little size I decided to use her for something other then an ornament, as she was intended.

I love the color of her and decided to make a belt bag/purse to match her.

I wanted a patchwork bag and went on the look out for pretty green fabrics, I had some in my stash and found some nice place mats in the local thrift store that I gutted.

I have never done patchwork before and I guess it takes some practice to get it straight, but it turned out acceptable.

The pattern is a slightly altered medieval merchant pouch pattern, I made it bigger and made the front flap a different shape.

The whole thing is lined with white linden and quite sturdy.

The drawstring is handmade on a lucet with green wool yarn.

The front flap holds the goddess doll and is decorated with chain stitches, beads and a single tassel (lately I have used quite a few tassels)

I really like then end result and cant wait for warmer weather, so I can wear it with a pretty skirt.

Yule goddess ornaments

A little late I know, but I made these last month and then forgot all about bloging abot them.

I made them for a pagan yule ornament swap on swap-bot and had a lot of fun with them, I think they turned out pretty cute and I think a will make more next yule for myself.

I made one green and one blue, both with golden thread decorations and large round glass beads at the top.

I think they would real pretty on an yule tree or maybe on a troll hazel branch.
